Bayer Leverkusen's youth team has secured a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Stade Brestois 29 in the UEFA Youth League quarter-finals. The German side will now face either Real Madrid or Inter Milan in the semi-finals.
Leverkusen took the lead in the first half through a well-taken goal from striker Zidan Sertdemir. The Belgian forward latched onto a through ball and calmly slotted it past the Brest goalkeeper.
However, Brest hit back just before half-time, with midfielder Mathis Le Berre equalizing with a powerful strike from outside the area. The French side continued to threaten after the break, and they took the lead in the 65th minute when forward Bryan Mbemba found the net.
Leverkusen refused to give up, and they leveled the scores once again through Sertdemir, who headed home a cross from the right flank. With the game seemingly heading for extra time, Leverkusen snatched a dramatic late winner in the 89th minute.
Midfielder Ayman Azhil received the ball on the edge of the area and unleashed a stunning shot that flew into the top corner. The goal sent the Leverkusen players and staff into raptures, as they celebrated their hard-fought victory.
