Tornado injures 2 near Basile; Tornado Warning in effect for Acadia & Lafayette parishes
Severe Threat Continues with Storms This Evening
Eunice, La. (KLFY) - The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has issued a Tornado Warning for Acadia and Lafayette Parishes until 8:45 PM. A tornado was confirmed near Basile, Louisiana, and is moving northeast at 30 mph. There are reports of damage to structures and power lines, and two people have been injured.
The NWS is urging residents in the warned area to take shelter immediately. If you are outside, seek shelter in a sturdy building or underground. If you are in a vehicle, pull over to the side of the road and stay in your car.
This is a dangerous situation. Please stay weather aware and follow instructions from local officials.
