National Weather Service Issues Warning for Acadia Parish

Residents Urged to Take Shelter Immediately

The National Weather Service in Lafayette has issued a tornado warning for Acadia Parish, including the city of Basile. The warning was issued at 6:05 p.m. CST and is in effect until 7:00 p.m. CST.

A tornado was spotted near Basile moving northeast at 30 mph. Residents in the affected area should take shelter immediately in a sturdy building or underground. Mobile homes and outdoor areas should be avoided.
