Youth League: RB Leipzig to face Real Madrid in the semi-finals, Dortmund and Milan also through
Leipzig edge out Salzburg, Dortmund and Milan progress
RB Leipzig, Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and AC Milan have all progressed to the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League.
Leipzig, the defending champions, beat Salzburg 2-1 in a hard-fought quarter-final on Wednesday, while Real Madrid saw off Inter Milan 3-2 in extra time.
Dortmund then overcame Manchester City 1-0, with Milan completing the last-four line-up thanks to a 2-0 win over Sporting Lisbon.
Leipzig too strong for Salzburg
Leipzig were pushed all the way by Salzburg, but they ultimately proved too strong for the Austrian side.
The German team took the lead through Elias Abouchabaka in the first half, but Salzburg levelled through Dijon Kameri shortly after the break.
Leipzig regained the lead in the 65th minute through Hugo Novoa, and they held on to secure their place in the semi-finals.
Real Madrid survive Inter scare
Real Madrid were made to work hard for their victory over Inter Milan.
The Spanish giants took the lead through Sergio Arribas in the first half, but Inter hit back to level through Martin Satriano.
Real Madrid then took the lead again through Peter Gonzalez, but Inter equalised once more through Edoardo Vergani to take the game to extra time.
In extra time, Real Madrid finally found a winning goal through Arribas to book their place in the semi-finals.
Dortmund and Milan also through
Borussia Dortmund reached the semi-finals with a 1-0 victory over Manchester City.
The German team took the lead through Jamie Bynoe-Gittens in the first half, and they held on to secure their place in the next round.
AC Milan also progressed to the semi-finals thanks to a 2-0 win over Sporting Lisbon.
The Italian team took the lead through Marko Lazetic in the first half, and they doubled their advantage through Andrea Capone in the second half to secure their place in the last four.
The semi-finals will be played on 28 and 29 April
The semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League will be played on 28 and 29 April.
RB Leipzig will face Real Madrid in the first semi-final, while Borussia Dortmund will take on AC Milan in the other.
The winners of the semi-finals will then meet in the final on 25 May.
