Youth League: Milan snatch late draw against Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund played out a 1-1 draw at AC Milan on Matchday 2 of the UEFA Youth League, extending their unbeaten run in the competition.

Dortmund took the lead in the 55th minute through Jamie Bynoe-Gittens. The English winger, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United, showed his class with a mazy run and finish.

Milan fought back, and they were rewarded with an equalizer in the 89th minute. Substitute Andrea Adorante was on hand to tap home after a cross from the right. The goal sparked wild celebrations among the home fans, and it gave Milan a share of the points.

The draw leaves Dortmund top of Group G with four points, while Milan are third with two points. Borussia Monchengladbach and Sevilla are also on two points, so the race for qualification to the knockout stages is still wide open.

Milan will be looking to build on this positive result when they travel to Sevilla on Matchday 3. Dortmund, meanwhile, will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten record when they host Monchengladbach.

Reaction:

Milan coach Federico Giunti was pleased with his team's performance.

"We played well against a strong team," he said. "We created some good chances and we deserved to get something from the game. We're still in a good position to qualify for the knockout stages, and we're looking forward to the next game."

Dortmund coach Hannes Wolf was disappointed with the result.

"We didn't play well enough today," he said. "We made too many mistakes and we didn't create enough chances. We need to improve our performance if we want to qualify for the knockout stages."
