Youth League: Milan and BVB Off to Winning Starts
Milan Crush Dinamo Zagreb 3-0
AC Milan's youngsters got their UEFA Youth League campaign off to a flying start with a convincing 3-0 victory at home to Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday.
The Rossoneri took the lead in the 33rd minute when Lorenzo Colombo converted a penalty after Tommaso Pobega was fouled in the area. Colombo doubled Milan's advantage just before half-time with a fine individual effort, dribbling past two defenders before firing into the bottom corner.
Milan continued to dominate after the break and added a third goal in the 65th minute when Emil Roback tapped home from close range after good work from Pobega.
BVB Edge Barcelona 1-0
Borussia Dortmund also began their Youth League campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Barcelona at the Stadion Rote Erde.
The only goal of the game came in the 27th minute when Youssoufa Moukoko converted a penalty after Ansu Fati was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area.
Despite Barcelona's best efforts, they were unable to find an equalizer and Dortmund held on for a hard-fought victory.
