Youth League: Leverkusen reach last 16 after 3-1 win over Inter Milan
Bayer Leverkusen have reached the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League after a 3-1 win over Inter Milan.
The German side took the lead in the first half through Iker Bravo, and doubled their advantage early in the second half through Zidan Sertdemir.
Inter pulled a goal back through Valentin Carboni, but Leverkusen sealed the win late on through Karim Konate.
Leverkusen started the game brightly and took the lead in the 15th minute when Bravo headed home a cross from Sertdemir.
Inter had a chance to equalize in the 25th minute when Carboni was played through on goal, but the Argentine forward fired his shot wide.
Leverkusen doubled their lead in the 48th minute when Sertdemir curled a shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.
Inter pulled a goal back in the 65th minute when Carboni scored from the penalty spot after he had been fouled in the area.
However, Leverkusen sealed the win in the 89th minute when Konate scored from close range after a cross from the right.
The win means that Leverkusen finish top of Group D with 13 points, while Inter finish second with 10 points.
