Youth League: Barca Thrash PSG, Bayern Munich Through After Bayern Leverkusen Collapse

Barca cruise past PSG, Bayern survive Leverkusen scare

Barcelona's youngsters continued their impressive run in the UEFA Youth League with a 5-2 thrashing of Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday. Alejandro Balde, Lamine Yamal, Angel Alarcon, and Ilias Akhomach were all on target for Barca, who have now won all four of their group stage matches.

Bayern Munich also secured their place in the knockout stages with a 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen. The German champions twice came from behind to claim victory, with Arijon Ibrahimovic scoring the winning goal in the 89th minute.

The results mean that Barca and Bayern Munich have both qualified for the knockout stages with two games to spare. PSG and Leverkusen are now fighting for the third and final qualification spot from Group B.

Barca dominate PSG

Barca were in control from the start against PSG and took the lead in the 12th minute through Balde. Yamal doubled the lead just four minutes later, and Barca were cruising at 2-0 up.

PSG pulled a goal back through Ismael Gharbi in the 27th minute, but Barca restored their two-goal advantage just before half-time when Alarcon scored.

PSG started the second half brightly and reduced the deficit to 3-2 through Ilyes Housni in the 55th minute. However, Barca wrapped up the victory with two late goals from Akhomach and Fabio Blanco.

Bayern Munich survive Leverkusen scare

Bayern Munich were made to work hard for their victory over Leverkusen. The German champions fell behind in the 11th minute to a goal from Zidan Sertdemir, but they equalized just four minutes later through Paul Wanner.

Leverkusen regained the lead in the 35th minute through Joshua Eze, but Bayern Munich leveled again just before half-time through Ibrahimovic.

The match looked set to end in a draw, but Ibrahimovic popped up with the winning goal in the 89th minute to send Bayern Munich through to the knockout stages.
