Youth League: AC Milan and Real Madrid battle to a thrilling 2-2 draw
Two of Europe's most promising youth teams, AC Milan and Real Madrid, played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday.
Milan took the lead twice through Marko Lazetic and Tommaso Pobega, but Real Madrid fought back on both occasions. Sergio Arribas and Carlos Dotor scored the goals for the Spanish side.
The match was played at the Alfredo Di Stefano Stadium in Madrid, and it was a closely contested affair from start to finish.
Milan had the better of the chances in the first half, and they took the lead in the 20th minute when Lazetic fired home from close range.
Real Madrid equalised in the 35th minute through Arribas, but Milan restored their lead just before half-time when Pobega scored a stunning long-range goal.
Real Madrid came out strongly in the second half, and they equalised again in the 55th minute through Dotor.
Both teams had chances to win the game in the closing stages, but neither side could find a winning goal.
The draw leaves Milan top of Group B with 10 points from four games, while Real Madrid are second with seven points.
