US Election 2024: Indian Priests Perform Hawan For Donald Trump's Victory Against Kamala Harris
A religious ritual was performed in support of former US President Donald Trump
American priests performed "havan," a religious ritual to favor Donald Trump's victory in the upcoming 2024 US presidential election where he will be running against Kamala Harris.
Indian priests conducted a "havan" ceremony in the northern Indian town of Haridwar on Saturday in support of former US President Donald Trump's bid to regain the presidency in the 2024 election. The priests performed the ritual at the Har Ki Pauri ghat on the banks of the Ganges River, considered a sacred site in Hinduism.
The priests chanted mantras and offered prayers to various Hindu deities, including Lord Shiva and Goddess Durga, seeking their blessings for Trump's victory. They also performed a "yagna," a ritual involving the offering of ghee (clarified butter) and other materials into a sacred fire, to invoke the gods' favor.
The ceremony was organized by the Hindu Sena, a right-wing Hindu nationalist group known for its support of Trump. The group's founder, Vishnu Gupta, said the "havan" was performed to "invoke the blessings of the gods for Trump's victory" and to "ensure the defeat of his opponents, particularly Kamala Harris."
The event drew mixed reactions from the local community. Some residents expressed support for Trump and the Hindu Sena's initiative, while others criticized the use of religion for political purposes.
The "havan" ceremony is the latest in a series of events organized by the Hindu Sena in support of Trump. In 2020, the group organized a "Trump Diwali" event in Delhi, where they prayed for his victory in the 2020 presidential election.
