UEFA Youth League: Olympiakos pull off shock win
Young Reds stun Manchester United to reach semi-finals
Impressive performance from Greek side
Olympiakos have pulled off a shock victory over Manchester United to reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League.
The Greek side were underdogs going into the match, but they produced a stunning performance to beat the English giants 2-1.
Olympiakos took the lead in the first half through a goal from Konstantinos Tzovolas, and they doubled their advantage in the second half through Michalis Vakakis.
Manchester United pulled a goal back late on through Alejandro Garnacho, but it was not enough to prevent Olympiakos from progressing to the next round.
The win is a major upset, and it shows that Olympiakos are a team to watch in this competition.
Reaction from the managers
"I am very proud of my players," said Olympiakos coach Vasilis Vouzas.
"We knew that Manchester United would be a tough opponent, but we were confident in our ability to win.
"We played with great heart and determination, and we deserved to win the match."
"We are now in the semi-finals, and we will be looking to go all the way and win the competition," added Vouzas.
"We are disappointed with the result," said Manchester United coach Neil Ryan.
"We didn't play our best football today, and we made some mistakes that cost us the game.
"We will learn from our mistakes and come back stronger next season."
