UEFA Youth League: Bayer Leverkusen reach semi-finals after stunning Barcelona
Prolific Leverkusen continue fine form to reach last four in UEFA Youth League
Bayer Leverkusen's irresistible form in the UEFA Youth continued with a stunning 3-1 win at Barcelona on Wednesday, as the German side booked their place in the semi-finals.
Leverkusen, who have now won six games in a row in the competition, took the lead through Iker Bravo's delightful dink in the 33rd minute. Barcelona managed to draw level through Lamine Yamal's header shortly after the break, but Leverkusen responded superbly.
Arda Güler restored the visitors' lead with a close-range finish just three minutes later, before Zidan Sertdemir wrapped up the victory with a brilliant individual effort.
The result means that Leverkusen will face either Manchester City or Sporting CP in the semi-finals. Barcelona, meanwhile, will be left to rue a missed opportunity to reach the last four for the third time in the past four seasons.
