Barcelona wins 3-1 against Juventus in the UEFA Youth League
Barcelona extended its lead atop the UEFA Youth League Group H standings with a 3-1 home victory over Juventus on Wednesday.
The result leaves Barca with a perfect record of three wins from three games, while Juventus remains in second place with four points.
Barca took the lead in the 17th minute when Alejandro Balde fired home a low cross from the left.
Lamine Yamal double gives Barcelona the advantage
Lamine Yamal doubled the lead just before half-time with a superb individual effort, beating two defenders before firing into the bottom corner.
Juventus pulled one back in the 65th minute through a penalty from Nicolo Rovella.
However, Barca restored its two-goal advantage in the 75th minute when Yamal scored his second of the game, tapping in a cross from the right.
Barcelona dominates the game with 65% ball possession
Barca controlled the game throughout, enjoying 65% of the possession and creating several chances.
Juventus had its moments, but it was unable to find a way past a well-organized Barca defense.
The win leaves Barca in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League.
Juventus needs to work harder to advance to the next round
Juventus, meanwhile, will need to improve its form if it wants to advance to the next round.
The Italian side has now lost two of its three games in the UEFA Youth League and will need to win its remaining two matches to have a chance of qualifying.
