UEFA Youth League: Barcelona crowned champions
Barcelona's Juvenil A team have been crowned champions of the UEFA Youth League after defeating Benfica 3-0 in the final in Nyon, Switzerland.
Goals from Alejandro Baldé, Ángel Alarcón and Ilias Akhomach secured the victory for Barcelona, who have now won the competition a record four times.
Barcelona dominated the match from the start and took the lead in the 21st minute when Baldé fired home from close range.
Alarcón doubled Barcelona's lead in the 58th minute with a header from a corner, and Akhomach wrapped up the victory in the 76th minute with a clinical finish.
The win is a major triumph for Barcelona's youth academy, which has produced some of the club's most famous players in recent years, including Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta and Xavi.
It is also a testament to the work of coach Óscar López, who has been in charge of the Juvenil A team since 2018.
Barcelona's victory in the UEFA Youth League is a sign of the club's continued dominance at youth level.
