Liverpool assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders has confirmed that Thiago Alcantara is back in training but will not be available for tonight's Champions League clash with Rangers.
The Spain international has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury in the 2-2 draw with Fulham on the opening weekend of the Premier League season.
And Lijnders has revealed that Thiago is now back in training but is not yet ready to return to action.
'Thiago is back in training but he's not available for tomorrow,' Lijnders said at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

'He trained yesterday and today but he's not available for tomorrow. He needs a full week of training to be available for the weekend.
'So, that's the situation with Thiago. Obviously, we're really happy to have him back. He's a very important player for us.'
