Pharrell Williams looks back on his fast food past
Singer and businessman Pharrell Williams has opened up about his early working life, and he revealed that his first job was indeed at McDonald's.
However, the singer-songwriter admitted that his career at the fast food outlet was short-lived as he was fired shortly after starting the job.
Pharrell is one of the biggest names in music, having produced hits for the likes of Jay-Z, Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake, and also releasing his own chart-topping tracks.
Pharrell has also become a successful entrepreneur, having founded several businesses including a record label, a clothing line, and a skincare brand.
But despite his incredible success, Pharrell has admitted that his first job wasn't quite as glamorous as his current career.
"My first job was at McDonald's," he said in an interview with GQ. "I got fired after two weeks."
Pharrell didn't go into detail about the reasons he was fired, but he did say that he wasn't particularly cut out for the fast-paced environment of a busy fast-food restaurant.
"I'm not a very fast person," he said. "I'm not a very efficient person. So, it was a little bit of a nightmare for me."
Despite his short-lived career at McDonald's, Pharrell said that he learned a lot from the experience.
"It taught me the value of a dollar," he said. "It taught me the value of hard work."
"It also taught me that I'm not cut out for the fast food industry."
