Liverpool Maintain Perfect Start to Youth League Campaign

Young Reds Secure Second Win in UEFA Youth League

Liverpool's Under-19s made it two wins from two in the UEFA Youth League on Wednesday with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Napoli at Kirkby Academy.

Goals from Mateusz Musialowski and Oakley Cannonier secured the points for Barry Lewtas' side, who now sit top of Group A with six points from their opening two matches.

Musialowski Breaks the Deadlock

Liverpool dominated possession in the opening stages and deservedly took the lead in the 27th minute. Musialowski, who has been in fine form for the young Reds this season, latched onto a through ball and coolly slotted home.

Napoli Equalize Before Half-Time

Napoli grew into the game as the half progressed and drew level seven minutes before the break. Gianluca Gaetano burst into the Liverpool penalty area and fired a low shot past Vitezslav Jaros.

Cannonier Wins It for Liverpool

Liverpool regained the lead in the 55th minute when Cannonier, who had come on as a substitute at half-time, headed home from close range. The young striker's goal proved to be the winner, as Napoli failed to find a way back into the game.

Liverpool's Impressive Start

Liverpool's victory over Napoli means that they have now won their opening two matches in the UEFA Youth League group stage. They will be confident of maintaining their perfect start when they travel to face Salzburg in their next match on November 2.

Lewtas Praises His Team

After the match, Liverpool U-19s coach Barry Lewtas praised his team's performance.

"I'm really pleased with the way the players performed tonight," he said. "We showed great character to come back from conceding a goal and to secure the win."

Musialowski Continues to Shine

Musialowski was once again one of Liverpool's standout performers. The Polish forward has now scored three goals in two UEFA Youth League matches this season.

"Mateusz is a very talented player," said Lewtas. "He's still only 18 years old, but he has a bright future ahead of him."

Liverpool's Hopes of Progressing

Liverpool's victory over Napoli has put them in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages of the UEFA Youth League. They will be confident of securing their place in the next round if they can maintain their impressive start.
