DEC investigating threat at Warrensburg office

State Police say threat was received by phone Thursday

Agency says building was evacuated and employees were sent home

WARRENSBURG, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) is investigating a bomb threat made against its Warrensburg office on Thursday. State Police say the threat was received by phone around 10:30 a.m.

The building was evacuated and employees were sent home. A bomb squad and K-9 unit were called to the scene and searched the building, but no devices were found.

The investigation is ongoing. No one has been arrested at this time.

In a statement, the DEC said it takes all threats seriously and is working with law enforcement to investigate the matter.

The DEC office in Warrensburg is located at 232 Golf Course Road. The office is responsible for environmental protection and regulation in Warren, Washington, and Saratoga counties.
