Bayern edge Barca to reach UEFA Youth League semis

Bayern Munich Under-19s beat Barcelona 2-1 in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Youth League.

Bayern Munich's Under-19s reached the semi-finals of the UEFA Youth League with a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Barcelona on Wednesday.

Paul Wanner gave Bayern the lead in the first half, before Arijon Ibrahimovic doubled their advantage after the break.

Barca pulled one back through Lamine Yamal, but Bayern held on to secure their place in the last four.

Bayern will now face either Manchester City or Inter Milan in the semi-finals, with the tie set to be played on April 27.

Bayern took the lead in the 25th minute when Wanner fired home from close range after being set up by Ibrahimovic.

The goal was Wanner's fourth in the UEFA Youth League this season, and it gave Bayern a deserved lead.

Barca had chances to equalize before the break, but they were unable to find a way past Bayern goalkeeper Johannes Schenk.

Bayern doubled their lead in the 55th minute when Ibrahimovic scored a fine individual goal.

The forward picked up the ball on the left wing and drove into the Barca area before firing a low shot into the bottom corner.

The goal was Ibrahimovic's fifth in the UEFA Youth League this season, and it put Bayern in a commanding position.

Barca pulled one back in the 75th minute when Yamal scored from close range after a cross from the left.

The goal gave Barca hope of a comeback, but Bayern held on to secure their place in the semi-finals.

Bayern will now be confident of going all the way in the UEFA Youth League this season.
