Bayer 04 Judo extends contract with Judo coach Sven Maresch
Cologne, December 20, 2023 - Bayer 04 Judo has extended the contract with Judo coach Sven Maresch by two years until June 2026. The decision was made by the board of directors of the club.
"We are very pleased that Sven Maresch will continue to be our coach. He has done an excellent job in the past years and has helped us to achieve great success," said Dirk Asshauer, managing director of Bayer 04 Judo.
Maresch has been coaching Bayer 04 Judo since 2016 and has led the team to numerous successes. In 2022, the team won the German championship title for the first time in the club's history. Maresch also coached several athletes to international success, including Karl-Richard Frey, who won the bronze medal at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo.
"I am very happy to continue working with Bayer 04 Judo. I feel very comfortable at the club and I am convinced that we can achieve even more success in the future," said Maresch.
Bayer 04 Judo is one of the most successful judo clubs in Germany. The club has won the German championship title six times and has also been successful in international competitions. Bayer 04 Judo is also known for its excellent youth development work.
