ATP Shanghai: Djokovic Triumphs, Federer Crashes Out
Djokovic Clinches 33rd Masters Title
Novak Djokovic captured his sixth Shanghai Masters title on Sunday, defeating Alexander Zverev 6-2, 6-4 in the final.
Djokovic dominated the match from the start, breaking Zverev's serve twice in the first set and once in the second.
The Serbian star has now won 33 Masters titles, moving him one ahead of Rafael Nadal in the all-time standings.
Federer Suffers Shock Defeat
Roger Federer's hopes of winning a third Shanghai title were dashed in the quarterfinals, as he was upset by Alexander Bublik 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
It was Federer's first defeat to a player ranked outside the top 50 since 2015.
The Swiss maestro had won his previous 15 matches against Bublik, but he was unable to find his best form on this occasion.
Zverev Continues To Impress
Alexander Zverev has continued to impress this season, reaching the final in Shanghai after winning the China Open in Beijing last week.
The German star has now won four titles in 2019, and he is currently ranked sixth in the world.
Zverev is one of the most exciting young players in the game, and he will be hoping to continue his good form in the upcoming ATP Finals.
