AP Race Call: Republican Chuck Edwards wins reelection to U.S. House in North Carolina's 11th Congressional District
Republican Chuck Edwards has won reelection to the U.S. House in North Carolina's 11th Congressional District, defeating Democrat Jasmine Beach-Ferrara.
Edwards, who has held the seat since 2017, will serve a third term in Congress.
Edwards, 67, is a retired businessman and former state senator. He is a member of the House Committee on Small Business and the House Committee on Education and Labor.
Edwards defeated Beach-Ferrara, a 39-year-old attorney and former state representative, by a margin of 54% to 46%.
In his victory speech, Edwards thanked his supporters and pledged to continue working on behalf of the people of the 11th Congressional District.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to continue serving the people of Western North Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives," Edwards said. "I will continue to fight for conservative values and for the people of this district."
Beach-Ferrara conceded the race and congratulated Edwards on his victory.
"I want to thank my supporters and volunteers for their hard work and dedication," Beach-Ferrara said. "I am proud of the campaign we ran and the issues we raised."
The 11th Congressional District of North Carolina is located in the western part of the state and includes the counties of Buncombe, Henderson, Madison, Polk, Rutherford, Transylvania, and Yancey.
